Questo articolo esamina due argomenti: in primo luogo cerco di mostrare che la relazione tra giustizia e ingiustizia non è una relazione di semplice mutua esclusione. L’ingiustizia non è una nozione residuale, non è solo il contrario della giustizia o l’assenza di giustizia, quindi deve essere concettualizzata in modo autonomo. Per fare ciò affronto il secondo argomento, ovvero la comprensione del ruolo ricoperto, nella costruzione delle identità individuali e sociali, dalla dimensione emotiva e cognitiva, due dimensioni differenti, rintracciate nelle loro linee principali in due distinti contributi teorici, quello di Virginia Woolf e di Hannah Arendt.

This article has a twofold aim: firstly, I try to show that the relationship between justice and injustice is not a relationship of simple mutual exclusion. Injustice is not a residual notion, it is not only the opposite of justice or the absence of justice, so it must be independently theorised. To do this I address my second topic, namely the understanding of the role played, in the construction of individual and social identities, by the emotions and the reason, two different dimensions of the human condition, drawn in their main lines in two distinct theoretical contributions, that of Virginia Woolf and Hannah Arendt.
