Moltmann, after a relevant quotation from German law in defence of animals, considers the relationship between human beings and animals from a theological point of view, following Jewish and Christian Biblical traditions. He analyses philosophically the communion of animals and men in the vital space of the earth and in history. Finally, he reflects on the practical consequences of his analysis.
